ABOUT YOUR HOSTS & WEDDING PLANNER

We have lived and worked in Italy for over 5 years. We are a young energetic couple who gave up sensible jobs in the city as an art director and accountant to pursue our dream of living and working in Italy.

We spent several years painstakingly restoring and redesigning our abandoned 17th century villa and even longer resurrecting and clearing the 20 acres of surrounding olive groves and abandoned countryside. 

We also manage and run a small organic farm which grows soft fruit, olives for oil and organic vegetables.

We constantly strive to update and renew – our mission is to offer our guests a beautiful location in which to relax, while retaining the authentic Umbrian experience.

We have been arranging weddings for guests of the villa for several years - we are pleased to  have earned a reputation for providing intimate, bespoke weddings for surprisingly affordable prices.

Isabel has a background in art direction and design and has directed major press events in London, high profile photographers and stylists. She has a keen eye for detail and impressive organisational skills and is an asset to any couple planning to marry in Italy.

We both speak the language and have built up a portfolio of reliable and trusted wedding suppliers (expert caterers, florists, photographers, hairdressers, make up artists and patisserie) that provide all those extra touches that help make your wedding day special.

We host no more than 4-5 weddings a year at our country villa in Umbria near Gubbio and Assisi. We offer a personal service and aim to offer every couple the wedding of their dreams.

If you choose to book your wedding with us you will deal with us directly - we are involved in every stage of the planning of your wedding, we will constantly keep you updated, we accompany you on all supplier visits and we even attend the ceremony to make sure that everything runs smoothly - we do what it takes to make your day happen...

'Pian di Cascina is ideal for staying in Umbria. We gathered family and friends from the US and UK to stay at Pian di Cascina a week prior to our wedding in Gubbio. The farmhouse sets the standard for relaxation and hospitality. The views from the pool and apartments are amazing, the farm is well manicured, and the hills are inviting for runners/walkers. Paul and Isabel, owners, renovated the farmhouse maintaining the charm of the Italian landscape and giving each apartment ample space. The standards for cleanliness are high making guests quickly feel right at home. The owners ensure that your stay is enjoyable and really go the extra mile to offer tips on the area. As fantastic hosts, they arranged for a local actor to perform his Edinburgh Fringe act. Additionally, they catered for 50 of our friends and family a porchetta party, a local culinary delight.
While planning our wedding, the two of us had previously stayed for a week to get a feel for the area, scouting other farmhouses in Casa Castalda and beyond. 'We were married with the excellent help of Pian Di Casina. Their villas were excellent at providing a space for all our family and guests. (Fits up to 30) The villa also has an in house restaurant that was perfect for our rehearsal dinner. Isabel & Paul made the week long stay excellent; from providing dinner upon our arrival, stocking our rooms with meal items so we didn't need to find an open store on a Sunday, and each villa comes with a "tour" book for the area. Excellent in planning day trips. All we did was show up and start enjoying ourselves.
Isabel took care of all the wedding details and the day was just as we hoped for. Everyone who was there for the week are already planning a return trip.
